About the course
Nitrosamines
are a family of carcinogens which are formed by the reaction of secondary and
tertiary amines, amides, carbamates, derivatives of urea with nitrite or
other nitrogenous agents. The presentation will focus on nitrosamine
impurities in pharmaceuticals by providing a background to the current
situation and how the pharmaceutical industry can attempt to alleviate the
risk of nitrosamines showing up in their products with better understanding
of the active pharmaceutical ingredients, its source and manufacturing
process.
