The Extractables and Leachables Safety Information Exchange Consortium (ELSIE), has developed a series of publicly available white papers that propose a framework for approaching risk management for leachables. The papers explain considerations and processes for managing leachables risk for drug products and manufacturing systems, covering materials selection, risk assessment, chemical and safety information gathering, and lifecycle issues, and provide a useful resource for developing a leachables program.
